Cure Impetigo with Tea Tree oil.
Cure Impetigo with Tea Tree oil.
Impetigo is a highly contagious skin infection that produces sores and blisters on any part of the body. It is generally caused by one of two bacteria, staphylococcus aureus or group A streptococcus. Although this skin infection can be found in any age group, it is commonly found in children due to close proximity and general play-dirt and ‘rough and tumble’. It often begins in already sore or damaged skin, cuts, eczema etc. It is at its most contagious phase when the sore is weeping, although you should still be incredibly careful even when a scab has formed. Impetigo is passed on by touch or even coming into contact with objects that have recently been exposed to an Impetigo sore.
My daughter contracted Impetigo from playing on a see-saw that had been straddled by a child with impetigo on their inner thigh and indeed that is exactly where my daughter’s first sore appeared. Due to the fact that it is difficult for a child to understand that they must not touch the area at all, even when it is itchy or uncomfortable, Impetigo can spread like ‘wild fire’! Basically any area of the body that is touched with a hand that has touched a weeping sore or, as in the case with the inside of one thigh touching the other thigh, an infected area touching another infected area can become infected with a new sore extremely fast.
After doing some research and a failed attempt with antibiotic cream from the doctors, I found that a sure fire method to clear Impetigo sores fairly quickly was to apply a couple of drops of pure Tea Tree oil to the wound and to cover the area so that any weeping could not touch un-infected areas of skin. I would do this at least twice a day along with intense hygiene and barrier nursing techniques. Each sore would be carefully cleaned and dried with a fresh piece of gauze on each wipe and the surrounding skin kept untouched by infected material. The sore would then be dressed with a melonin wound/non-stick dressing and sealed all around with a non-allergenic surgical tape. The fact that the sores were covered also made it harder for my daughter to touch the sores and pass them to other people or other parts of her body. The Tea Tree oil stings a little on application but only very briefly and has an amazing natural antiseptic quality that dries the sore up and keeps bacterial spread under check.

Natures Fountain of Health
Drinking water is so beneficial to our health that it’s been called the forgotten secret!
75% of our bodies are water including 90% of our brain tissue.
We should be drinking six to eight glasses of water a day as a minimum.
The greater majority of the population live in a continuous state of dehydration and have no idea that they are doing so. That ‘niggly’ headache and lack of concentration could more than likely be cured if you were to drink a glass of water. But for us to wait until we are thirsty, is to leave it too late for the effects of dehydration to be warded off. The thirst itself is the first sign!
There are many health benefits that a regular intake of water gives to our bodies and here are a few.
As I mentioned earlier approx. 90% of our brain tissue consists of water hence for it to function correctly we need to keep those tissues hydrated so that they can do their work to their fullest ability. Besides, as I mentioned earlier, lack of water causing headaches, it can also go one step further and trigger migraines, cause depression and make us feel fatigued.
Toxins are removed from our bodies via our kidneys and for this to function to take place, water is the vital ingredient. We need to regularly drink water so that the toxin build up in our kidneys from our daily food intake is flushed from our kidneys to our bladder for us to ‘dispose’ of. If we did not drink enough water to flush our kidneys properly the toxin build up would put our kidneys under pressure and be dangerous and indeed in the long term life threatening.
Water helps our bodies regulate their temperature, especially when we are exercising. As we exercise and begin to sweat, the sweat evaporates on our skin to help our body temperature drop. So, it stands to reason, that after exercise as we lose this water via sweat and indeed breathing heavily we must replenish it to maintain our performance and health. If not we will tire much more quickly and suffer heat exhaustion.
Our blood circulation and bodily fluids are all stimulated by water. It plays a vital role in controlling and regulating our skins natural balance. Water has the power to hydrate, revitalize, detoxify and oxygenate our skin. It helps our skin cells remain plump and full and lessens dryed and wrinkled skin. A much cheaper and less painful version of botox!
To maintain a healthy metabolism and digestive system , again, we must maintain our water intake. Metabolism is the bodies means to turn our food intake into our energy supply. If we maintain a healthy functioning metabolism rate we, in turn, give ourselves a healthy energy supply and in turn our bodies utilise our food intake for energy making and not in laying down fat deposits. So, another plus for a healthy water intake is that we help control our weight.
On the subject of weight control, drinking plenty of water helps us to feel ‘full’ and helps satisfy our appetites. Hence, drinking water is a useful weight lose measure.
As you can see, drinking plenty of water is essential to our daily health and wellbeing. I have only listed but a few points, but hopefully enough for you the reader to go to the kitchen right now and pour an ice cold glass of water. Happy drinking!
